Something to change about school

If I could change anything about school, it would be to refurbish the handball courts. Handball is a popular lunch time activity enjoyed by many, people play during break times over by the food tech rooms in the walled off area. Getting some lines painted in would be quite helpful, but it is important to keep the sizes of the current squares the same (uneven), as it makes the court unique and fun. Aside from the squares, a big problem is losing handballs in the bushes on the other side of the wall, solving this could mean getting rid of the bushes and replacing them with something else such as small tussocks or flowers. School provided handballs could also be quite helpful. I think if these handball courts were to be refurbished it would give students something else to do at lunch time be beneficial to school learning as hand eye coordination is great for your brain.

Punctuation task

I am conflicted about zoos. I worry they’re an extension of our other colonial activities, marking our territory at the apex of the natural world, and a form of species-level dominance that shares a root with the domination of men over women and of majority over minority.

Or, perhaps I’m over thinking things. Maybe they’re just a playground to take children to, rather than go stir crazy at home. Whatever they used to be, zoos are now playing a different role in conservation, and reminding people of the challenges humans have created for the diversity of global fauna.
